Per Rune Henriksen

Mr. Per Rune Henriksen was appointed Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in 2010. Before that he was a member of the national board for the Labour Party for seven years, leader of Hordaland County Labour Party from 2003-2009, and a member of the Storting for Hordaland County from 2005. He was also a member of the board for Gasskonferansen, the conference on the use of biogas and natural gas in Norway, from 2004-2010

Mr. Henriksen started his career as a carpenter. He joined Tømrernes Fagforening (the building carpenters’ union) and was a member of their board from 1984-1988. From 1988-1990 Mr. Henriksen was part of the Norwegian Volunteer Service in Kenya. After returning, Mr. Henriksen was appointed safety delegate for building workers in Hordaland County. He remained in this position until he, in 1997, became the Secretary for the Norwegian Confedartion of Trade Unions (LO), in the greater Bergen area. During the course of his career, Mr. Henriksen has had numerous other political and public appointments.
